Audio Selector

Switch audio devices and sample rates from your Mac menu bar

Audio Selector puts every audio device on your Mac one click away in the menu bar - outputs and inputs alike - and shows the current device and format right there. It also changes bit depth and sample rate (up to 32-bit/768kHz) without opening Audio MIDI Setup, and a free iPhone app turns your phone into a remote for device, volume and format. Software volume for DACs with no volume control. Free to use; Pro is a one-time upgrade with no subscription.

Hi everyone 👋

I'm the developer of Audio Selector.

To change the sample rate, I often found myself opening Audio MIDI Setup, finding my device in the list and picking a new format from its dropdown. The speaker icon in the menu bar can switch outputs, but it can't show or change the format. I wanted to see the current device and format at a glance, and change both in one click.

What it does:

• See the current device and format right in the menu bar (e.g. 24bit/96kHz)
• Switch output and input devices right from the menu bar
• Change bit depth / sample rate per device (up to 32-bit/768kHz)

• Software volume for DACs and interfaces that have no volume control
• Control it all from your iPhone with the free Audio Selector Remote app
• Roon users: adjust the volume of outputs Roon is holding

Free covers everyday switching. Pro is adds custom device names and icons, L/R balance, output pair selection for multichannel interfaces, and a volume-bar menu bar icon.

I hope it makes everyday audio on your Mac a little easier.
