Hold a key, talk, and your Mac does what you asked
Hold a shortcut, say what you want, let go. Atticus opens apps, shops for you, fills out forms and answers questions about what's on your screen. It asks before it buys or sends anything. Simple asks run instantly with no AI, and the rest run on your own Claude plan. Free and open source.
Hi everyone, I'm Saarth, a high schooler, and I built Atticus.
I wanted a Mac assistant that does things for me instead of just talking back. You hold Control-Option-Space, say what you want, and let go.
A few things you can say. "Open Spotify and play lo-fi." "Find me a desk lamp on Amazon and add it to my cart." "Fill out this form with my info." It reads what's on your screen, so it can also answer questions about a PDF or write a reply to the email you have open. It always asks before it buys, sends or deletes anything.
Simple tasks like opening an app never touch an AI, so they take under a tenth of a second. When something does need the AI, it uses the Claude plan you already pay for, so most asks cost nothing extra. Ask for the same thing twice, and it learns a shortcut, so next time it cuts the time nearly in half.
There's also a Meeting Copilot that listens on calls and gives you answers to the questions people ask you.
It's free and open source. I'd love to know what you'd want it to do that it can't yet.

Atticus was hunted by saarth. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
