ATLAS
AI that guesses any street view location in 3 seconds
ATLAS looks at a street view image and predicts where in the world it is: country right about 81% of the time, measured in real games. Built as a Windows desktop app for GeoGuessr players who want an AI teammate, coach, or bot.
Hi Product Hunt. Solo builder here. ATLAS started as a question: how well can an AI locate a single street view frame with no metadata, just pixels? The answer today, measured across 1,600+ real GeoGuessr rounds, is about 81% country accuracy with a plausible map pin, in about 3 seconds on a normal PC.
A few honest notes, because this space is full of inflated claims:
- 81% is a real game number, not a lab benchmark. We publish how we measure it on the blog, including where the model is weak.
- It runs as a desktop app that reads the screen. Nothing is injected into the browser and no game files are touched.
- It is 19% wrong. We think shipping the real number matters more than a 99% that only exists in a cherry picked test set.
People use it as a coach (compare your read of a round against the AI), as an accessibility tool for players who cannot grind meta study, and yes, as a bot. Happy to answer anything about the tech, the accuracy measurement, or the ethics; I would rather have that conversation openly.

Who hunted ATLAS?
ATLAS was hunted by Sven. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
