I built Atelier because I kept noticing the same problem: people have great ideas, but many never make it past a notebook, a notes app, or the first rough draft. Creativity is rarely the problem — the difficult part is knowing what to do next, keeping everything organised, developing the idea, getting useful feedback, and actually finishing it. Atelier started as a simple AI tool that could ask creators better questions, but as I worked on it, my approach evolved. I realised creators didn’t need another chatbot that simply generated things for them; they needed a space that could understand their entire project. That led to features like Project Brain, Creative Mentor, Capture, References, Creative Editor, Visual Critic, and support for notes, images and documents. The project has gradually evolved into a creative workspace built around one principle: AI should not replace human creativity — it should help people unlock it and turn imagination into reality.
