Finish a goal, get a planet you can go back to
You finish a goal, and you get a planet. It keeps the date, how long it actually took, and whatever you wrote that day. No account. No feed. Nothing you've earned gets taken back. Each goal is a plain Markdown file you own, open in the Files app anytime.
Two things made me want to build this.
The apps I was using kept taking things back. Miss a week and the streak resets — whatever I'd built up just quietly disappears. Opening the app started to feel like checking a debt.
The other thing: I'd finish something, write a few lines about it, and a month later it was gone from my head. The entry was still in there somewhere. I just never opened it again.
I also really like space. Interstellar is my favorite film. So finishing a goal here doesn't give you a checkmark — it gives you a planet. You fly there, you arrive, and it keeps the date, how long it actually took, and whatever you wrote that day.
A few things I left out on purpose:
There are streaks, but they only ever add. Skip a day and you lose the small bonus, nothing else — the map of what you've done keeps every square you earned.
No feed, no friends, no leaderboard. Nobody sees your planets. I'm not planning to add that.
No account. Your goals are plain Markdown files in your own iCloud. Open them in the Files app anytime. If you delete Astrail, they're still there.
It's free. There's a subscription that gives you more room to work in — more goals at once, more habit slots — but it never touches anything you've already earned.
I'd really like feedback on whether the arrival moment lands. That's the part I spent the most time on, and it's the part I'm least sure about.
