Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Simon. I've spent most of the last decade writing C++/Qt — desktop graphics, video codecs, 3D printing slicers. Not the beauty industry. I got here sideways. Every makeup app I tried did the same thing: one tap, a look lands on your face, it photographs well, and you learn nothing. You can't reproduce it at the mirror because you were never told what it did. And the next time you open the app, it has forgotten you existed. So I built the opposite of a filter. AskSimon generates a complete look, then hands you the parts. Lip, blush and eye are independent layers with their own sliders — move one and only that one moves. Hold to compare against the original photo. Undo and redo work like they do in a real editor, because that's the software I know how to write. Then it saves the exact values. Not "a look you liked" — the numbers. Next session opens on what already worked instead of a blank screen. One thing I'll say plainly: • The generation runs on a hosted model, not on your phone. It's fast but it isn't magic, and on some faces the first pass is wrong. That's why everything stays editable afterwards. Web (no download), iOS, Android. What I'd genuinely like to know: 1. Does the generated look survive contact with reality — could you sit down at a mirror and reproduce it? 2. Does "it remembers the exact values" matter to you, or do you want a fresh start every time? 3. Which single feature would make you open this twice in one week? I'll be here all day. Tear it apart.
