Ask Germany
German bureaucracy, answered from official sources only
Ask any question about German public offices in your own language: Anmeldung, residence permits, Kindergeld, taxes, driving licences. Ask Germany answers only from official government sources (46,641 pages from federal, state and ~370 city and district websites), links every statement to its source, and names the responsible office where you live. If the sources don't cover it, it says so. No account, no cookies, questions never stored. Independent, not a government website.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I moved to Germany and kept watching friends lose hours to one question about the Anmeldung: twelve tabs, three PDFs, and a forum thread from 2019 that contradicts all of them. Then I noticed Germans struggle with the same thing.
The answers already exist. They're on official websites, just scattered across 400 districts and cities, 16 states and the federal government. The US has america.gov as one front door. Germany doesn't, so I built one.
How it works:
• Retrieval over 46,641 official pages, filtered to where you live
• German compound words like "Wohnungsgeberbestätigung" are split, so search finds them
• Every sentence must cite an official source, or the answer is thrown away
• Ask in German, English, Turkish, Arabic or Ukrainian
Privacy was a firm rule from day one: no account, no cookies, questions are never stored, and everything runs in the EU.
It will get things wrong sometimes. Please try a question you've actually had, and tell me where it fails. That's the feedback I want most.
