Hi Product Hunt, I'm Krzysztof, founder of Art Licence Studio. What inspired it: so many talented artists can't make a sustainable living from their work. They sell a piece once, take one-off commissions, or have their art used commercially without clear terms, and they're paid once for work that keeps earning money for someone else. The problem I wanted to solve: licensing is how art keeps earning. One piece can be licensed again and again, for different uses, places and periods, while the artist keeps the copyright. But proper licensing has mostly been reserved for agencies and big budgets. I wanted every independent artist to have access to it, and every small brand, publisher or author to be able to use art properly and pay the artist fairly. How it came together: it started as a way to license ready-made artwork, then grew to cover commissions too, so artists can earn from new work and their back catalogue in one place. Every deal records the usage, territory, term and exclusivity, and the buyer gets a licence record and receipt. Payments run through Stripe, and AI-assisted work is disclosed. Fees: it's free to join. Sellers pay 15% commission, or 7.5% with ALS Pro (£9.99/month), payment processing included, no minimum or cap. I've just launched and the platform is open for first users, so I'd love to hear: - artists: what would help you build a steady income here? - buyers: what does a brief usually need that we're missing? - anyone: what's confusing about the licence terms? I'll be here all day answering questions.
