Argue

The app blocker you have to argue with

Argue makes you explain why you need a distracting app before Argo grants timed access. Built for everyone who taps “ignore limit” without thinking.

Top comment

For a while, I kept bypassing every screen time limit I set because I was also the person allowed to dismiss it. So I built Argue (ios app). You choose the apps and how many normal opens u get a day. After that, trying to open an app starts a conversation with Argo (my mascot). You explain what u need, and it either gives u a short timed break or denies it. It’s live on the app store now but hasn’t been getting much attention. I’m mainly looking for the failure cases like what excuse gets through when it shouldnt, where does the flow feel annoying, and what would make u delete it? Any feedback would SERIOUSLY help.

Who hunted Argue?

Argue was hunted by Johnathan Mo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
