AppleJuice

Tap-to-talk dictation for any Mac app

Most dictation apps lock you into the cloud or a subscription. AppleJuice lets you choose: quick cloud transcription with your own OpenAI key, or fully offline Whisper transcription (Metal-accelerated, nothing leaves your Mac). Add a customizable tap-to-toggle hotkey, spoken formatting commands ("new paragraph," "upper case"), and it types straight into any app — no copy-paste, no subscription.

Top comment

Hello everyone at ProductHunt. I've created AppleJuice to add a simple voice to text app that will work in any app. We can speak faster than typing and I wanted a way to capture this capability. There's no signing in to a web app - keep it simple. Just BYO your OpenAI API key or if privacy is your thing, run the app locally. It will even work with no internet connection.

Who hunted AppleJuice?

AppleJuice was hunted by Glen Hobby. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
