Apostate exists for two reasons. Heretic.tech needed better offensive capabilities to test our defenses against. We did not like obfuscated binaries being distributed arbitrarily based solely on 'trust me bro no malware', and behind paywalls at that. Heretic's core value is in physics-based detection rather than client-side analysis, so building Apostate publicly does not conflict with our commercial interests and instead helps solve a problem for both us and the community.
