apogee
Summarize anything. On your own machine.
A Private, In-Browser AI Summarizer for your articles, videos, emails and more. Runs in-browser via WebGPU (Chrome), Transformers.js (Firefox), or your own local Ollama. Inspired by Mozilla's Orbit.
Apogee was inspired by Mozilla’s discontinued Orbit project. Orbit aimed to provide browser-based page summarization, but it relied on centralized API servers running Mistral 7B and stored summaries on the server through endpoints like store_result. Mozilla eventually discontinued the project.
So I decided to build Apogee from scratch, but with a local and privacy-focused approach. Apogee lets users summarize content using local LLMs, so their data stays on their device instead of being sent to or stored by a big company.

Who hunted apogee?
apogee was hunted by Priyadarshi Annupam. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
