APIbenchmarks

An independent, open benchmark of developer APIs

APIbenchmarks is a free, open benchmark of developer APIs. We evaluate every provider against the same four criteria (documentation, reliability, ecosystem, and accessibility) and score each from 0 to 100. The method is reproducible, every figure is verified and dated, and there is no paid placement. The full dataset is machine-readable for AI agents and developers.

Top comment

Choosing an API usually means trusting each vendor's own marketing. We wanted one place where every provider is scored the same way, with the numbers shown and sourced, so you or your AI assistant can justify a pick instead of guessing. So we built APIbenchmarks: 131 APIs across 18 categories, each scored 0 to 100 on documentation, reliability, ecosystem, and accessibility, combined into one index (the ABI). No paid placement, every figure is dated and source-linked, and the full dataset is open and machine-readable (JSON API plus llms.txt) so AI agents can cite it. It started as a simple comparison table and grew into per-provider scorecards, category verdicts, and head-to-head pages, all generated from one open dataset.

Who hunted APIbenchmarks?

APIbenchmarks was hunted by Sam. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
