Hey Product Hunt! A few years ago I learned that when most people "count sheep", they actually see sheep. I don't. My mind's eye is blank. That's called aphantasia, it affects roughly 1 to 4 percent of people, and most of them find out by accident, usually through a conversation that ends with "wait, you mean you literally see it?" So I built aphantasie.org: a free platform where you can find out where you sit on the imagery spectrum. The self-tests follow the methodology of established research instruments (VVIQ, Psi-Q, binocular rivalry priming) with entirely original items. They are honest self-assessments, not diagnoses, and the site says so clearly. My favorite part is the 3D experience: a 4-minute scroll journey where a glowing memory of an apple slowly dissolves into pure knowledge. That is what remembering feels like without images. Everything is free, anonymous, and available in English, German, French, Spanish and Polish. I would love to hear your score, and whether the apple experiment surprised you.

Aphantasia was hunted by Onur Cirakoglu. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
