Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built Apex Health: Recovery Coach because every health app I used had the same problem. Six beautiful charts, and not one answer to the only question I actually had at 7am: should I train hard today, or should I back off?
The data was already there. My Apple Watch had been recording HRV, resting heart rate and sleep for years. What was missing was the judgment. So Apex Health: Recovery Coach reads all of it and gives you one verdict each morning, with the reasoning attached so you can argue with it.
Two decisions shaped everything else.
First, it runs entirely on your device. There is no Truestep server that receives your health data, because there is no server. The AI coach is Apple's on-device model. The only network call sends coarse, kilometre-rounded coordinates to a keyless weather API so your hydration goal knows it is 38°C outside.
Second, it is free. No subscription, no band, no ring. It runs on the Apple Watch you already own.
The biggest shift while building it: I started with scores, and realized scores are not the product.
Would genuinely love feedback on where the verdict feels wrong. That is the part I care most about getting right.
