Anvay
Reconnect with the timeless wisdom
We often inherit prayers as words before we inherit their meaning. Anvay helps people read Hindu prayers in the original, follow them in Hinglish and understand the ideas and context behind them.

Hi Product Hunt, I’m Niteesh, the designer and maker of Anvay. Many of us inherit prayers as sound before we inherit their meaning. We recognise the words, remember the rhythm or recite them with family, yet may still struggle to explain what they are saying and why they matter. I built Anvay to make that understanding easier to approach. Each verse connects three ways of reading: - Original, for the prayer as written - Hinglish, for people who do not comfortably read Devanagari - Understand, for a clear explanation of its meaning and context The first release brings together 101 aartis, bhajans, chalisas and mantras. It also includes daily wisdom, search, browsing by deity or category and favourites. Everything is available on the device and no account is required. I deliberately left out streaks, infinite feeds and engagement pressure. I wanted Anvay to feel closer to a thoughtfully designed reading room: calm enough for reflection and structured enough for learning. The hardest part has not been the interface. It has been preserving nuance, acknowledging variations and making the material approachable without presenting one interpretation as absolute. I would especially value your feedback on the reading model: does moving between Original, Hinglish and Understand feel natural? Where does the explanation feel too shallow, too dense or too certain? Thank you for trying Anvay and helping me improve it. 🙏 Niteesh
