I built AnkhKit to solve a specific frustration: having to upload sensitive documents, personal photos, or proprietary code to ad-riddled servers just to perform basic tasks like merging a PDF or formatting JSON.
Most online utility sites are privacy nightmares built on heavy server-side processing. AnkhKit takes a different approach.
By leveraging WebAssembly (WASM) and modern browser APIs, we process files locally on your machine. Your files never leave your device, there are no artificial wait times, and no watermarks.
We currently host over 300 tools across image, PDF, data, text, and developer utilities.
A note on technical transparency: While the vast majority of our tools are 100% client-side, browser memory limits mean heavy tasks (like large video compression) and our AI tools require server processing. We auto-delete these files within an hour.
I built this for myself and decided to open it up. I would appreciate your feedback on the UI, performance, and any tools you think are missing.
