Hey Product Hunt,
I got frustrated with the spray and pray job search tools. They're a numbers game. Auto-apply to 500 postings and maybe land an interview for some random role you don't actually want. If there's one job you actually care about, those tools don't help you get it. They generate volume. That's the whole product.
So one night I picked a single posting I wanted and tried to "do it right".
Went to LinkedIn and tried to figure out who'd actually run the team I'd be joining. Found someone I was maybe 80% sure was the guy. Read his profile, got halfway through a podcast he'd done a few years back, scrolled some old interviews. Turned out we'd both done time in business incubation, just on opposite sides. I wrote him a note. It wasn't really a pitch, more just a take on something he was working on.
A recruiter called me the next morning. The GM had forwarded it.
The whole thing took maybe two hours. I sat there thinking, huh. This is probably what a job search is supposed to look like. Actually picking the role and finding a way in, not blasting resumes into the void. But two hours per contact is a lot of hours when you're applying to ten things a week, and most people don't know any of this is on the table.
So I built angld.AI to compress those two hours.
A few things, in no particular order:
- It's me. One person. Stuff will break. My DMs are open.
- Hiring manager identification isn't perfect. I put confidence scores on everything so you can sanity check before you hit send.
- Credit-based, not subscription. Job hunting comes in bursts and charging monthly never sat right.
- There's a humanizer pass on the email drafts because version one still smells like ChatGPT half the time. Felt weird pretending otherwise.
Would love feedback on what's clunky and what I'm missing. Especially curious what hiring managers or recruiters think. Happy to be told I'm wrong about all of this.
Thanks for taking a look.
