I built AmiPDF because I kept hesitating before uploading contracts and ID scans to online PDF tools — most of them send your file to a server, and you just have to trust their retention policy. So the core principle here: the tools that can run in your browser, do. Merge, split, compress, watermark, page numbers, sign, redact, crop, rotate, protect/unlock, metadata, compare — all executed locally with pdf-lib and pdf.js. Your file never leaves your device for those. The honest exceptions: Office conversions (Word/Excel/PPT ↔ PDF) and OCR need a real conversion engine, so those run server-side (LibreOffice + OCR pipeline). Those files are deleted right after the job completes, we keep no account (there are no accounts), and we don't log file contents. No signup, no page-per-day limits, 14 languages. Would love feedback — especially on what's missing compared to the tool you currently use.
