Full Google Play, Alexa+ and a Kindle reading mode
Amazon Alexa Tablets are a new Android lineup with full Google Play access and Alexa+ built in. Available in 8.7-inch, 11-inch, and 12-inch sizes, they bring on-screen AI assistance, live conversations, a distraction-free Kindle reading mode, and an optional Nanomatte display on the 12 Pro.
Amazon just refreshed the Kindle lineup a few days ago. Now something even more interesting has arrived: Alexa Tablets.
For years, Amazon's Fire tablets came with their own app store instead of Google Play. These new tablets run Android with the full Google Play Store right out of the box. Three sizes: 8.7", 11", and 12", starting at $229.
@Alexa+ is built into the system. You can ask it about what's on your screen (if you enable screen access), have it add dates from a schedule to your calendar, or keep a live conversation going without repeating "Alexa" every time.
The 12 Pro gets a 120Hz display and an optional Nanomatte screen developed with Corning, plus a pen (!) and keyboard. There's also a new Kindle reading mode that silences notifications, reduces blue light, and extends battery life to up to 20 hours of reading, which is a really nice touch:
