Alternate Realities
Cinematic worlds that branch every time you choose
Start a world from a prompt, a photo, or a short video. Point at anything in the frame, or write what happens next — and it continues as real video. The last frame becomes the next scene, so the world stays continuous however far you follow it.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I kept running into the same thing with AI video: you write a prompt, you get a clip, and then it's over. The story has one ending and no way in.
Alternate Realities is my attempt at the opposite. You start a world from a prompt, a photo, or a short video. Then you point at something in the frame — a door, a lantern, a mirror — or just write what you want to happen, and the world continues as real video from exactly there. The final frame of each clip becomes the next scene, which is what keeps it visually continuous instead of drifting into a different-looking world every time.
Everything you make is private by default. If you make a world public it joins the archive, where anyone can walk your path or take a different one from any point you reached.
Two honest notes:
- Generation costs real money, so branches are paid: a top-up starts at $10, and a new ten-second branch costs 50¢ — the same as an opening image. There's no subscription, credits don't expire, and replaying a path you've already made is free. I'd rather say that up front than bury it.
- It is early. Character continuity across a long path is good, not perfect, and some worlds drift more than others. I'm working on it.
I'd genuinely love to know what you'd build a world from — and if you explore one of the public ones, tell me where you went. Happy to answer anything about the model stack, the cost model, or how the branch cache works.

Who hunted Alternate Realities?
Alternate Realities was hunted by Nihey Takizawa. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
