Alisie

A private dream journal for iPhone and iPad

Alisie is a private dream journal, on the App Store since autumn 2019. It's been built by one person as a passion project from day one, and it has always stayed true to one idea: no sign-up, no accounts, no backend server, no subscriptions, but everything you need to keep and analyze your dreams at a professional level. Today I'm releasing version 2.0, a major update to the app.

Hello, Product Hunt!

Alisie is a private dream journal that's been on the App Store since autumn 2019. It's been built by one person as a passion project the whole time, and throughout its development it has stayed true to a philosophy I find really important.

First, privacy and independence from third-party services.
Every dream you record belongs only to you, with no accounts and no sign-up. The project has no backend server of its own, so all data lives on your device. The only cloud provider that meets every privacy criterion is Apple's iCloud. Even then, a local copy always stays on your devices, so offline-first work is still guaranteed.

Second, advanced capabilities.
You can add a huge amount of detail to every dream, and the most important part is that everything you've ever logged is reflected on the statistics screens. For lucid dreaming practice there are dedicated tools, like Reality Check and a random dream-sign widget.

Third, the monetization model.
The app sets no limits: you can create as many dreams, categories and characters as you want, and use the full backup system. Buying Pro unlocks advanced statistics and lucid dreaming tools. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Every update also adds new features for both free and Pro users, and for Pro they're unlocked at no extra cost. Addons are genuinely big features that took a long time to build. Same terms: a separate, one-time purchase, no subscription.

For a long time I didn't want to do any marketing for this project, but the app is genuinely well-made, so it's finally time to let more people know about it.

Today version 2.0 is out, a major update:

  • App Redesign. A refreshed design and new icons across all iOS versions, with Liquid Glass support on iOS 26.

  • Statistics. New screens, redesigned charts, custom date ranges, and improved performance.

  • Trends. See how your dreams change over time: nightmare frequency, emerging emotions, shifts in tags, characters and locations, recurring patterns.

  • Dream Connections. An interactive graph of links between characters, places and objects from your dreams: frequent pairs, key nodes, unexpected connections.

  • Pro Max. A new catalog of optional modules. One-time purchases, no subscription.

  • Improvements. Faster performance, improved stability, and numerous refinements throughout the app.

Who hunted Alisie?

Alisie was hunted by Ro1and95. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
