Alien Desk

Your terminal tabs, staffed by little aliens

A small panel on the side of your Mac that shows every Claude Code tab in Terminal, iTerm2 or Ghostty. Each tab gets a little pixel alien at its desk: it types while Claude Code works, stops when it needs you, and rests when it's done. One click jumps to that tab. After a restart, reopen your conversations in the folders they were in. Free for every tab. Pro is one-time ($9 launch price until Oct 31). Everything stays on your Mac.

Hi everyone, I'm John. I'm a designer who builds apps with Claude Code. On a busy day I have 20+ Claude Code tabs open on a 13-inch MacBook Air. Every tab looks the same, so I kept missing the one waiting for my permission. And after every restart, I had to find and reopen each conversation by hand. So I made Alien Desk for myself. Every tab gets a little alien at its desk on the side of the screen: - It types while Claude Code works, stops and waits when the tab needs you, and rests when it's done. - One click brings that Terminal, iTerm2 or Ghostty tab to the front. Nothing is typed for you. - After a reboot, reopen the conversations you had open, in the folders they were in (Pro). Two things I cared about most: - It should never slow down your terminal or Claude Code. - Everything stays on your Mac. No account, and nothing about your work is sent anywhere. Free covers every tab and every state. Pro is one-time: $12, or $9 until October 31. Alien Desk is an independent app, not affiliated with Anthropic. I'd love to hear how many tabs you usually run, and what would make this more useful for you.

Who hunted Alien Desk?

Alien Desk was hunted by John Jung. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
