Airscope
Wi-Fi auditor for Windows, macOS & Linux — zero setup
Cross-platform Wi-Fi auditor that ships its own userland USB drivers — runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux with zero monitor-mode setup. Features: WPA/WPA2 handshake + PMKID, WPS PixieDust/PIN/PBC, WPA3 SAE, EvilTwin with real-time MIC verification (plaintext PSK recovered directly), built-in hashcat cracking, batch mode, local web dashboard. Zero-hardware demo: run with --web --demo, full UI in your browser. ⚠️ Authorized networks only.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Airscope because I was tired of needing a Linux VM just to audit my own home network. Every tool I found — wifite2, aircrack-ng, reaver — required kernel monitor-mode drivers that simply don't exist on Windows or macOS.
The solution was shipping userland USB drivers written in Python that talk directly to the wifi chipset via PyUSB. The entire 802.11 MAC layer — beacon parsing, 4-way handshake, WPS protocol — runs in Python with no kernel involvement. That's why it works natively on all three platforms.
The most technically interesting part was the EvilTwin implementation — instead of just capturing a handshake and leaving you to crack it offline, it runs a fake AP, validates each password attempt in real time via MIC verification, and recovers the plaintext PSK directly when someone types the correct password.
Want to try it without buying any hardware? Run with --web --demo and the full web dashboard opens in your browser — every screen is interactive, nothing touches your network.
Happy to answer any technical questions about the USB driver porting approach or the 802.11 stack implementation!
⚠️ Built for authorized use only — networks you own or have permission to test.
