Hey Product Hunt — I'm building AirHand: an open-source Android app that lets a cloud agent use your phone. The idea is simple: the agent lives in the cloud; the phone handles the taps. I wanted a phone agent that could eventually use the same runtime as my other agent workflows. A cloud runtime can run code in a sandbox, call authorized APIs, and work with data before deciding what to do on the phone. AirHand is the Android execution side of that idea. What works today: • Describe a task, then watch the agent open apps, read the screen, tap, swipe, and type. • A floating control shows each action and gives you a Stop button. • No root or connected computer is required at runtime. • Bring your own Rebyte API key. The key stays encrypted on your phone and authenticates requests to Rebyte. A task we've tested: open YouTube, search Google, and play a video from Google's channel. This started in a fork of droidrun/mobilerun. AirHand is a standalone Kotlin implementation, and the source is MIT-licensed. A few clear boundaries: this release supports Rebyte only. Other backends need an adapter; cloud sandboxes and external connectors are future extensions, not bundled features. Screen content goes to the cloud during a task. The phone must be online and unlocked. The app is free; API usage is separate. It's an early developer release for Android 11+, distributed as an APK. I'd love feedback from Android users and agent builders: what is the first phone task you'd want to hand to a cloud agent? Source and install: https://github.com/nomoat/airhand
