Hi everyone! Good to be back - the team and I are excited to launch a new product from Kaedim! 🎉
Here is a bit of the story and insights that led the team to work on our AI-powered 3D Model Marketplace ⏬
Talking to game devs on a daily basis, we started noticing that there is an initial period before/during pre-production that teams might turn to online 3D Marketplaces for purchasing and downloading assets and asset packs to populate early prototypes and demos.
However, we also kept hearing repeating complaints about all the existing 3D marketplaces. You buy something online only to realise when you import to your 3D modelling software that it has:
❌ Bad topology
❌ Broken meshes
… and needs cleanup in general 🫠
Although it might be the most cost-efficient route for indie game devs to get a prototype working ASAP, most teams will not use these marketplace-bought models on the final game and gradually replace them with true-to-their-style in-house-made models for consistent style, performance optimisation, and more. In a nutshell, money spent on a model you need to pour more money into (clean up) to then replace and forget.
So here is why we are launching a 3D Model Marketplace:

If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the marketplace BUT have made a sketch / generated a concept you like with MJ or DALLE, you can use our 3D Marketplace to generate the 3D model ON THE SPOT. Going the extra mile to give you what you imagine, EVEN for the prototype phase.
🥉 We are all about satisfying topology and clean meshes. So we are here to guarantee you can have peace of mind that the models you’re buying are ALWAYS clean and ready to use. PERIOD.
You can expect:

Here is HOW IT WORKS:
🔍 You can search with keywords and/or by selecting a category (we are adding a styles filter too as we speak)
✨ Based on your search, we’ll load a selection of the 3D models that match your search AND we will also generate 2D images based on your prompt ON THE FLY (we use DALLE).
🙌 Now, you just have to choose something you like. It’ll either already have a 3D model for you to purchase and download OR if it’s just the 2D concept that we’ve generated you can go ahead and TURN INTO 3D with Kaedim, then and there.
🎨 Finally, all purchased and generated 3D models are gonna be added to your Kaedim library at https://app.kaedim3d.com where you can use our automatic tools for: editing, UV unwrapping, colouring, texturing and more!
