I built Aegis AI because every IDS I looked at either buried you in raw alerts or cost enterprise money for basic detection.
The problem: a network flow gets flagged as an attack, and then you're on your own to figure out what it means, how bad it is, and what to actually do about it.
What Aegis does differently: it doesn't just detect (a stacking ML ensemble — Random Forest, XGBoost, LightGBM — hitting 99.88% accuracy on network flow data), it explains. Every detection gets a plain-English incident narrative generated by Claude, walking through what happened, how severe it is, and a recommended response.
Under the hood it's a LangGraph agent pipeline: classify → assess severity → enrich with context → generate narrative → recommend action. Rebuilt the RAG retrieval layer three times chasing a memory leak, hunted down a nasty silent bug where only 6 of 41 model features were actually reaching inference — the usual scars from shipping something real.
