Adhan Focus
Auto-pause browser tabs at Muslim prayer time; free, private
Adhan Focus turns your browser into a prayer-conscious workspace. When Salah begins, it automatically pauses background video and audio across every open tab (YouTube, Netflix, Spotify) and sounds an alert with an optional fullscreen prayer focus screen. • Auto-pauses across all tabs & auto-resumes after prayer • Accurate prayer calculations with customizable offsets • 100% offline & privacy-first: no ads, no trackers, no accounts • Lightweight Manifest V3, open-source forever (MIT)
As-salamu alaykum and hello Product Hunt! 👋
I built Adhan Focus to solve a recurring personal frustration: whenever I was locked in a deep coding flow, studying, or watching YouTube, the Adhan would pass without me noticing. Phone notifications were either muted or across the room.
Existing desktop apps were bloated, required invasive accounts, or worse — sold user location data to third-party data brokers.
I wanted something lightweight, respectful, and uncompromisingly private:
1. It runs directly inside your browser where you spend your day.
2. The moment Salah begins, it pauses media playing across your tabs and gently alerts you.
3. Everything operates completely offline. No tracking, no user IDs, no servers.
Adhan Focus is 100% free and open source (MIT). It is live today on Chrome, Firefox (Desktop & Android), Edge, and Opera!
I'd love your thoughts, feedback, and ideas on what features to build next. If it helps you pray on time, that is the best reward! 🤲
