Activity Guardian: Reminder
Voice reminders that speak aloud—even with your screen off
Unlike silent notification banners that are easy to ignore or swipe away, Activity Guardian speaks your reminders out loud using on-device Text-to-Speech—even when your screen is locked. Set custom spoken phrases, schedule flexible repeat intervals in minutes or hours, skip single occurrences without breaking your routine, and review full completion history. Built 100% offline with zero sign-ups, cloud sync, or personal data collection.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Azhagiri from Mugavari Studio.
What inspired me to build this & the problem it solves:
While working long hours at my desk, I realized standard phone notifications were completely failing me. Silent banners and subtle chimes are far too easy to ignore or swipe away without looking—especially when your phone is across the room or your screen is off. I needed my phone to actually speak to me for posture checks, hydration, eye breaks, and daily family routines.
How the app evolved:
I started with a simple text-to-speech alarm, but quickly realized daily routines need flexibility and reliability. Over time, I built Activity Guardian into a complete offline routine assistant using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose:
• Speaks Out Loud: Reads both the reminder title and a custom sentence aloud using on-device TTS—even with the screen off.
• Minute & Hour Intervals: Schedule quick minute-based loops (like 20-20-20 eye breaks) or hourly/daily reminders for medication and tasks.
• Smart Skip & History: Skip just the next upcoming alert without breaking your recurring schedule, and audit fired, completed, or skipped tasks in the history log.
• Reboot-Safe & 100% Private: Automatically reschedules active alarms after a device reboot and stores everything locally on your phone with zero cloud uploads or sign-ups.
It’s completely free on Google Play. I’d love your feedback—what daily habit or reminder would you want your phone to speak out loud?
