Aaru
A smarter workout tracker built for real progression
AARU is an iOS workout tracker designed for lifters who want to do more than simply log sets. Create your own workouts or download routines shared and rated by the community, track every set with precision, and analyze your progress at the workout, exercise, set and muscle-group level. AARU includes 147 exercises, advanced performance analytics, weekly muscle recovery and volume insights, body measurement tracking, strength-to-bodyweight rankings and social sharing.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Arthur, the solo founder and developer behind AARU.
I started building the app around two years ago because I had tried many workout trackers, but always felt that something was missing. Most of them were good at recording sets, yet very few helped me understand what those numbers actually meant over time.
I wanted to create something that could answer questions such as:
Am I genuinely progressing on this exercise?
Is my weekly volume increasing or decreasing?
Am I recovering properly between sessions?
Which muscle groups am I neglecting?
How does my performance compare relative to my bodyweight?
That idea slowly became AARU.
Today, the app lets you create or download community workouts, log your repetitions and weights, and access detailed analyses for complete workouts, individual exercises, specific sets and muscle groups.
There is also body measurement tracking, customizable targets, performance sharing and a ranking system for major compound exercises. Rankings are based on strength relative to bodyweight from sets of four to six repetitions, rather than simply rewarding whoever lifts the most absolute weight.
This is still the first public version, and I’m fully aware that there is plenty left to improve. Early testers have already helped me identify a few bugs, and I’m working through them as quickly as possible.
My first goal is to validate the core experience with real lifters. If AARU reaches its first 1,000 users, I’ll begin working on a much larger V2 with training programs, goal tracking, broader exercise support, more advanced analytics and support for additional training styles such as CrossFit.
A dedicated platform for coaches and gyms is also part of the longer-term vision.
I’d genuinely love your honest feedback — especially about the onboarding, workout tracking experience, analytics and anything that feels confusing or unnecessary.
Thank you for checking out AARU.

Who hunted Aaru?
Aaru was hunted by Arthur Petit. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
