9to4

A daily picture quiz: 9 photos, pick the 4 that fit

9 real photos, 1 question: "Which 4 of these castles are in Spain?" or "Which 4 peaks are over 5,000 m?" Pick the right 4. The catch: the wrong ones are close calls, like castles from neighbouring countries. Castles, aircraft, vehicles, peaks and islands, all real and credited to their photographers on Wikimedia Commons. Play the free Daily (same round for everyone, streaks, shareable result) or go Endless, and collect every find in your album. No sign-up needed.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 We're two friends who love geography games, but most of them show you a map, a flag or a blurry street view. We wanted something built around real photos of real things: castles, mountains, islands, aircraft. So 9to4 gives you 9 photos and one question, like "Which 4 of these castles are in Spain?" or "Which 4 peaks are over 5,000 m?", and you pick the right 4. The hard part wasn't the photos, it was keeping the wrong answers fair. The 5 decoys come from neighbouring countries or close values, so you're telling Spain from Portugal, not from Japan. And if the data doesn't know a fact for sure, that photo is never used as a "wrong" answer. Everything is built from open data: facts from Wikidata, photos from Wikimedia Commons (every photographer is credited after the round), and difficulty from Wikipedia page views, from Easy (the famous ones) to GG (everything). Play the Daily (same round for everyone, keep your streak, share your score without spoilers) or go Endless. No sign-up needed. We'd love to hear which topic you'd want next, and if a question ever feels unfair, there's a report button on every photo. Most of our fixes came from those!
