I’m an indie developer from Japan, and I built 5sec. because I wanted capturing moments to feel effortless again.
Most camera apps let you record for as long as you want. With 5sec., there’s no stop button—just tap once, record exactly five seconds, and the share sheet opens automatically. Surprisingly, removing the stop button completely changes how recording feels. You simply capture a tiny slice of real life and move on.
Personally, I keep using it to film ramen. 🍜 The steam rising from a freshly served bowl, lifting the noodles with chopsticks… five seconds is all I need. Those little moments are exactly why I made this app.
