5050.markets

Trade your take on the news, YES or NO, swipe to play

5050 Markets turns the news into something you can react to, not just read. Swipe through real news-based questions and take a YES or NO position on what happens next. Paired with 5050 News, which rates source bias and credibility, it's a faster, sharper way to engage with current events.

Hey everyone! We built 5050 Markets because we kept noticing the same thing: every time a big story breaks, everyone has a take, but there's no real way to put that take anywhere. You just scroll past. So we built a swipe-based interface where you take a YES or NO position on real news stories, geopolitics, sports, culture, whatever's happening. Less doomscrolling, more "what do YOU actually think happens next." Alongside it we're building 5050 News, which rates news sources for bias and reliability, so before you take a position, you know a bit more about what you're reading. Our approach evolved a lot during build. We started as a single news-reaction feed, but realized the swipe and position-taking mechanic was way more engaging on its own, so we split it into its own product and let 5050 News handle the context layer separately. Would love feedback on the swipe UX especially, and curious what kinds of questions or stories you'd want to see markets for. 🙏
